Stuart Foster is a transactional and litigation attorney with experience spanning commercial disputes, land use, real estate, regulatory compliance, and appellate practice. He advises businesses on contract negotiation, risk mitigation, and compliance issues, and has represented clients in state and federal courts in matters involving contractual and commercial disputes, commercial leases, covenants, easements, real estate matters, promissory notes, and real estate purchase and sale agreements.
Stuart brings a well-rounded practice that combines transactional work and litigation.
On the transactional and land use side, Stuart has managed commercial leasing, residential and commercial development projects, and real estate transactions for developers, property managers, and closely held businesses, guiding clients from initial negotiations and land use approvals through closing. He also brings experience supporting mergers and acquisitions and advising clients operating in regulated industries.
On the litigation side, he has served as first- and second-chair counsel in complex commercial disputes, managed discovery, taken and defended depositions, and drafted substantive motions. He also has appellate experience, including briefing matters before the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court, and successfully arguing a case that resulted in a published Court of Appeals decision.
Stuart has a strong connection to Colorado’s Front Range and the Western Slope, having previously practiced alongside several of our attorneys in the Grand Junction office. He earned his undergraduate degree from Colorado Mesa University and his J.D. from the University of Wyoming.
