Jay is a bilingual (Spanish-speaking) attorney dedicated to providing comprehensive and high-quality legal representation in the areas of real estate transactions, urban redevelopment, infill development, public-private partnerships, and outside general counsel services for private and public sector entities.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Jay interned with the Commercial Service Section of the Department of Commerce at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he promoted international trade in the southern region of South America. He then brought that experience in-house, working in exports for a domestic manufacturer. Subsequently, he began his legal career attending the University of Wisconsin Law School on a merit-based scholarship.

Jay began his practice focusing on commercial real estate and business transactions and providing outside general counsel services for businesses. As his career progressed, his experience in real estate led him into representing public and private sector entities in urban redevelopment and infill development projects, as well as rural raw land development. Jay’s experience includes infrastructure funding, construction, and installation, public finance, establishing local government entities, and contract drafting, negotiation, and implementation. This breadth of work has honed Jay’s abilities to listen to, identify, and achieve his client’s objectives by carefully and creatively navigating and negotiating delicate, often sensitive circumstances with meticulous attention to detail.

At FGMC, Jay leverages his public- and private- sector experience to deliver excellent transactional representation. He is committed to being direct, efficient, and comprehensive, while recognizing the client’s perspective on timely, responsive, and thorough communication. In his spare time, Jay enjoys cycling, running, hitting the slopes, and spending time with friends and family.
