Laura Martinez was appointed by the Governor’s Office to serve as a judicial nominating commissioner for the 1st Judicial District (Jefferson & Gilpin counties). Each commission is chaired by a justice of the Colorado Supreme Court, who is a non-voting member of the commission. The commission is comprised of three attorneys and four non-attorneys who together, interview applicants and recommend individuals to the governor to assist the governor in selecting judges.
